Brilliante!

Woah! I feel very honored that Jackie at Smoothpebble has seen fit to give me an award. Award is really a funny term for these things.  Really they give you the opportunity to virtually pat someone on the back and introduce others to blogs you like. I used to poo-poo these awards as popularity contests but that was before I was given one. Now that’s I’ve been nominated I feel honored and can see beyond the popularity to the camaraderie. How’s that for a 180? Silly, I know.

Part of the “rules” of this award is for me to now give it to 7 blogs. I find this difficult. For one there are over 100 feeds on my Bloglines. Which, I might add, I’ve been trying to pair down. But I really do enjoy reading other people’s sites. And every time I knock one off the list, I seem to add two in it’s place. So to name only 7 is hard. On the other hand I feel I need some sort of relationship with a person to be so bold as to comment on a blog that I like their site enough to give them an award. Obviously, I don’t have time to be commenting on over 100 blogs, many I just read or scan. So here’s what I’ve whittled it down to, in no particular order:

Painted Fish Studio – Jen’s already received this award, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t give it to her now. If you’ve been reading my blog at all you know how I feel about her. I mean, I even wrote a poem about her and everything.

My Polaroid Diary – Jen of Scissors Paper Glue‘s new venture. It’s clean and simple allowing her wonderful Polaroid creations to shine through. If you haven’t checked it out yet you should.

Pepper Paints – I adore all of Kristen’s posts and feel an odd connection to her that I hope she doesn’t think is creepy. We share a love of photography and crafting with our children. She often inspires projects I do with my own kids.

Sew Fab Martha – we met during a macro photo challenge and our friendship has taken off since then. I am constantly inspired by her photography and love trying out the photo related fun she comes up with.

The Write Ingredients – Jenn writes about all the glory that is food. If you’re not local you may not be interested in her restaurant reviews but you should check out her recipes and other foodie fun.

Kleas – she doesn’t post often, but when she does it makes me smile. We share a love of crafting both for ourselves and with our kids.

Smoothpebble – Is it wrong to give the award to the person who gave you the award in the first place? I’m fairly certain it is. But I really do enjoy reading about her crafty ventures and seeing her photography.

For all of the rest of you that have blogs just know it was actually stressful to narrow it down to 7 vs just listing you all. I really enjoy seeing what you come up with each and every week. Thank you.

Now for the rules, in case you’re interested:

1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog.
2. Link to the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs for an award.
4. Put links to those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs for the people you’ve nominated
